I didn't vote because I use 2 interfaces ... EVDO and Wi-Fi for backup when EVDO isn't present.
I have found that there's a device made by Airlink (Internet in Motion sells it) that is much more robust than consumer EVDO aircards. It uses a full 3 watts of power to receive cellular broadcasts. I have gotten rave reviews from the users ... in areas that were heavily wooded and VERY rural ... the connection was 100 percent. No drops at all. I just don't have 1400 dollars to spend on Internet hardware ... :-(

Wi-Fi but usually only from home, work or at friends, as long as it's free

I just use internet when in my driveway or in my garage. Sometimes I will find places with free wifi if I need to check emails or something.
I would like to tether to a GSM phone but I really cant justify to pay much for it since I wouldnt use it a whole lot. I might get internet next time I upgrade my phone depending on the cost.

Why do we need mobile internet anyways??? For reading an occasional e-mail and watching youtube!
That's what interests me more: who has a really good reason (plugin) for using the net. (streaming webcam to the wife while she's in the kitchen and you are driving home is quite funny. But I don't know if it's an advantage...)
